But, I went to put them on, and the base of the shaft was extremely tight (approximately where the second strap from the bottom is located), but that's not unusual in new leather boots. So I continued to ease my foot into them, and something on the inside actually cut the top of my foot... and I had socks on! I've never had that happen before, so I don't know if that was just a defective pair or if the shoe is designed that way. I wasn't willing to take a chance and re-order the boots again.
